Hello! My name is Lesley and I run PetBiz.NZ. It’s nice to virtually meet you!
My marketing journey began in 2003 when I started selling digital products online. Then in 2007, I embraced the digital nomad lifestyle, creating a house sitting website and embarking on a two-year pet sitting adventure across Australia and Canada. It was then I knew I wanted to care for pets permanently as a career!
Life took an unexpected turn in 2009 with a surprise pregnancy, bringing us back to New Zealand. As a new stay-at-home mum, I leveraged my online marketing skills to help local businesses thrive. I mastered WordPress, creating beautiful websites and assisting over 100 business owners with branding, design, and online marketing until 2014.
Seeking a healthier lifestyle, I finally launched my dream business — playing outside in the sunshine with dogs. It was as close to heaven as it got for me! For the next decade, I found a place of complete joy in my work, even expanding into creating organic, plant-based dog treats.
Despite business and health challenges, my passion for marketing never waned. I love the thrill of boosting a business’s Google ranking or increasing profits through simple website tweaks.
Now, I’m combining my extensive experience in digital marketing and pet care to help fellow Petpreneurs build successful pet businesses. I’m excited to use everything I’ve learned from starting and growing my own pet care company to guide you on your journey.
